  • 'Pakistan is an attractive investment destination,' PM Imran tells SCO heads of state
    Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the 19th Meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of SCO, said the predominantly young population of Pakistan is imbued with immense energy and creativity.
    • "Our other endowments include a vast pool of skilled human resource, a large agrarian base, tremendous tourism potential, diverse mineral wealth, and a developed IT infrastructure."
    • He said Pakistan builds its partnerships based on mutual respect, sovereign equality and equal benefit.

  • US urges Pakistan to improve ties with India
    The United States has urged Pakistan to take “sustained and irreversible steps” to improve ties with India by enhancing its efforts to eradicate militancy from the region.
    A White House official made these remarks while talking to Indian journalists in Washington this week, as Pakistan renewed its efforts to engage India in direct talks for reducing tensions with its eastern neighbour. (Dawn, June 10, 2019)
  • PM again offers talks to India on Kashmir, terrorism
    Pakistan renewed its offer to hold dialogue with India to resolve contentious issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and terrorism, to restore peace in the region and address the problems confronting the people of the two countries.
    In his letter, PM Khan has mphasized that the two sides should shun their differences. In his previous letter, he had agreed to hold talks on the issue of terrorism on India’s demand. (Dawn, June 08, 2019)
